Proxies and identity tabs
An identity tab is a tab that behaves like a separate person: it goes out through its own proxy, keeps its own cookies and storage, and shows its own browser fingerprint (timezone, language and other details matched to the proxy's location). Tabs never see each other's data.
Adding proxies#
On chrome://pluralbrowser, paste your proxies into the box and click Add proxies, or choose a CSV file. See Importing proxies and accounts for every accepted format. After an import Plural shows for a few seconds how many lines it read, and the top bar keeps a running Proxies N count.
Testing proxies#
Each proxy needs to be measured once — its IP, country and timezone — so the identity on it can match that location.
- Test on a row measures that proxy.
- Test all proxies measures every row (20 at a time) and fills in each result as it arrives.
- A green status shows
IP country timezone · speed. A red status says what went wrong (wrong password, proxy unreachable, …).
Scripts that open tabs themselves test a proxy automatically if it was never tested.
Opening identity tabs#
- Open tab on a row opens an identity tab on that proxy.
- The + button / new-tab shortcut can open a new identity tab automatically (a setting on chrome://pluralbrowser chooses a normal tab or an identity tab, and which proxy to use next).
- You can also set the page a new identity tab starts on.
Saved sessions ("Keep")#
With Keep ticked on a row, Plural saves that identity's logins (cookies and site storage) when you close it and restores them the next time a tab opens on that row — so you stay signed in. Untick it to start fresh every time; the saved session is then deleted.
Clearing measured location#
Clear geo (or Clear all geo) forgets a proxy's measured location so it is measured again — useful after a provider changes the proxy's exit.
